Meet Our Team

Mike Hopkins
President
Mike is a native of Calloway County with family roots that run deep in Western Kentucky. After graduating from Murray State University, Mike’s career as a Process Engineer took him to companies such as Continental General Tire and Bridgestone/Firestone where he developed a track record of consistent process improvement and cost savings leadership for factories around the world which culminated in the prestigious CEO award at Bridgestone/Firestone in 1997. Although Mike loved the challenges of Engineering in the Manufacturing industry, he saw an opportunity growing in the late 1990s to enter the Information Technology field. Technology had been a passion of his for many years and he had worked hard during college and afterward expanding his IT skills while maintaining a career in the Engineering field. Mike moved to doing IT full-time in 1999 and has never looked back.
He lives with his wife of 17 years, Effie, and their two boys, Noah and Gavin, in northern Calloway County. He enjoys spending time with his family, camping, biking, church activities, and has a passion for reading.
Brandon Kindle
Senior Technical Engineer
Brandon is from a small town in Southern Illinois, after starting the Cisco program as well as Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 training at Vienna High School he decided to pursue a college degree at Shawnee Community College. During his time at Shawnee Community College, Brandon was a member of the Phi Beta Lambda and was awarded 1st place in a state wide networking competition and 7th in the national competition. A year after starting college he started working in Information Systems at a small engineering company in Vienna. He had formal training in Cisco and Microsoft NT 4.0 in high school, as well as plenty of personal time building, repairing, and learning about computers with his uncle which was very well versed in computing.
After graduating from Shawnee Community College with an AAS in Computers and Networking, he remained to work full time as the administrator for the network at the engineering company. During that time they had a sister company that provided network and computer consulting, as well as retail sales in which Brandon provided the support for. He maintained this position for one year after graduation until his decision to attend Murray State University. At Murray State University Brandon earned a Bachelors of Science in Telecommunications Systems Management and was the recipient of the 2006 Senior of the Year award for Telecommunications Systems Management. Brandon started with DEVsource in 2006. He is now the Senior Engineer and enjoys the variety of challenges and the opportunity to work in diverse business environments.
Jeremy Blackford
Technical Engineer
Jeremy has worked at DEVsource for over 4 years. He majored in Computer Information Systems and Telecommunication Systems Management in college and has over 12 years working IT experience in various sectors such as State College, Manufacturing, Public Schools, Department of Labor, and Department of Defense Contracting. As his position of Technical Engineer he manages anything from servers, routers, wireless solutions to phones systems. On any given day he is tasked with being the go to IT person for several small and medium sized businesses. He enjoys working at DEVsource because it is a fun and dynamic business that is constantly adapting to the demands of the technology field.
When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, kids, family and friends. He attends church regularly and attributes that part of his life to a lot of successes by saying “without Gods help I wouldn’t be where I am today.” He is an avid sports fan and enjoys UK and Murray State basketball, Saint Louis Cardinals baseball and the NFL. He enjoys a frequent dose of adrenaline by being outdoors and anything else that involves physical activity including weight training, running, martial arts, dirt bike riding, and playing basketball.
Diane Talmadge
Administrative Assistant
While the work title is “Administrative Assistant” - she changes it depending on what the email is about. She does it all-but none of it is done alone. Diane joined DEVsource in 2004 as a temp - to file the ‘piles of documents’ on Mike’s desk – and help with some bookkeeping. When DEVsource needed a fulltime bookkeeper/admin type, Mike said they needed a “special kind of bookkeeper/admin”. One who had a wide range of work experience – like doing technical support at Microsoft and bookkeeping for an accountant. This admin-type needed to enjoy a wide variety of activities like shooting M16’s and running in combat boots and needed to copy Morse Code at 20 words per minute – in the back of a small plane in full flight gear. Well – that position seemed to fit Diane all the way around, so she’s been here since then. She has enjoyed it all (and is thankful not to have to repeat her work experiences from the Army).
So, when you call the office and she answers – don’t be shy about providing technical details about a problem -- she a “special kind of admin!”
Effie Hopkins
AP/AR Clerk
Effie has been the AP/AR clerk at DEVsource since fall 2010. Like her husband, Mike, she has lived in Murray for most of her life and graduated from Calloway County High School. She attended a few years at Murray State University where she met and married Mike. They have been married for 17 years and have two sons together. She loves the outdoors and any kind of adventure - biking, walking, camping, and gardening. When she’s not outdoors, Effie enjoys cooking for her family, being active in her church, and savoring the wonderfully ordinary things in life.
Trent Ballard
Senior Sales Consultant
Trent has worked at DEVsource for more than 2 years and is a geek at heart. He is in charge of consulting, account management and anything client related. Trent received his Bachelors in Business with a focus on e-Business. He enjoys working with clients and helping them save time, money and reduce headaches with technology solutions. He lives in Murray with his wife, Whitney and daughter, Reagan.
Courtney Ferry
Marketing Director
Courtney started working for DEVsource in 2011 following completion of her Master’s Degree from Murray State University. She also obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Communications and Marketing from MSU as well. She has a diverse professional background in marketing, public relations, customer service, sales and event planning with success in a variety of business environments including higher education, Department of Defense contracting and retail. Her favorite part of working in marketing is social media and event planning. She also enjoys the opportunity to get to talk to clients and build relationships with them.
In her spare time, Courtney spends the majority of her time planning for her wedding that is next June which she has pretty much summed up as having another full-time job on the side. She also enjoys reading, exercising, blogging, and cooking.
Jessica Lott
Support Technician
Jessica is a sophomore, studying Computer Science, at Murray State University. She began working as an intern for DEVsource in the summer of 2011. Jessica loves to cook which is good for us here in the office because we receive her homemade desserts each week. She is also the President of Women in Computing, an organization designed to give support to women in the technology field because they are such a minority. Jessica encourages others to never give up and lives by a quote from Henry David Thoreau, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”
