Security and Safety Group had a paper based RMA process and needed an electronic process to provide better customer service. They already had the long term plan of moving the RMA process to their new CRM system. However, the new CRM system was not to be in place for a year and then the RMA process would have to be added to it after the CRM process was released. So, a transitional RMA system was developed using ASP.NET and SQL Server. This application was developed with the core functionality that they needed to allow them to have business value from electronic system today and to move the CRM based RMA when it was available.
